What is Gig Buddies?

Gig Buddies is a scheme which brings friendship and a love of music together. It allows people with learning disabilities to do the things they enjoy!

Gig Buddies matches pairs together and hosts inclusive gigs and events. Gig Buddies pairs are matched based on shared interests, it doesn’t have to be gigs, it could be the theatre, cinema, meal out. It’s about building real friendships that go beyond a night out.

Gig Buddies is about fun, friendship, and making sure everyone gets to be part of their community.

What do we do?

Matching

Gig Buddies matches two people together based on common interests. Pairs then hang out around once a month, doing the things they enjoy together!

Socials

Gig Buddies also runs group socials and our own monthly gigs.

Group socials are once a month in Hull and once a month in East Yorkshire, they are for buddies to get together and do things as a group. Gig Buddies runs these at local events such as local gigs, games night, meals out and lots more!

Gigs are held once a month on a Tuesday evening at Wrecking Ball Music & Books, these are inclusive gigs open to anyone to come along and listen to local musicians. More can be found about these on our events page.
